TACHS TEST PREP
The Test for Admission into Catholic High Schools (TACHS) is a standardized exam used by Catholic high schools in the Archdiocese of New York and the Diocese of Brooklyn/Queens to evaluate prospective students for admission. The TACHS assesses students in four key areas: Reading, Language Arts, Mathematics, and Ability (cognitive skills including abstract reasoning, pattern recognition, and problem-solving). The exam is typically taken by 8th-grade students and plays a critical role in determining eligibility for enrollment in Catholic high schools. Understanding the format and content of the TACHS is essential for students aiming to perform well and secure a place at their preferred school.
Register for a TACHS Mock Exam
Help your student pinpoint the areas in most need of improvement by registering for a proctored in-person practice test. Students do not need to be enrolled in our program to take a practice test. The TACHS mock test provides students with the opportunity to become familiar with the format of the test, practice pacing strategies, identify content areas/skills to work on, and most importantly, to learn from their mistakes!
If our proctored dates do not work with your student’s schedule, you may purchase a practice test to administer at home and send back to us for scoring.
TUTORING OPTIONS
Individual Sessions
Each weekly individual tutoring session runs for one hour and meets at the workshop. Let us know your child’s grade level, needs and interests, and we will pair him/her with the teacher who will provide the best support.
Small Group Sessions
Often, students need support in similar areas and can benefit from small group work and collaboration to advance their skills. Students in a group tutoring session must be in the same grade and at similar levels in their studies in order for the work together to be productive. Parents may propose a group of 2–4 students, and/or we can help coordinate with other students before matching the best tutor to facilitate the weekly hour-long session.
Online Sessions
Location is no longer a barrier. No matter where you live, we can find the perfect tutor for your child. Once you’ve found that tutor, you can stick with them, wherever you are and wherever they are.
