Ramsey Tutoring LLC, d/b/a Smith Street Workshop, Smith Street Maternelle, Smith Street Arts & Lettres and its affiliates (individually and collectively, “Smith Street”, the “Company”, “we”, “us”, and “our”) respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this Privacy Policy (the “Policy”).

This Policy describes the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when you visit our websites, www.smithstreetartsetlettres.org, www.smithstreetmaternelle.com and www.smithstreetworkshop.com (each individually, our “Website” and collectively, our “Websites”), and how we use and disclose that information.   • To communicate with you about our educational, tutoring, language and test prep services (our “Services”) or to respond to your inquiries and for other current and future customer service purposes.

  • Contact you via email, telephone, or standard mail to inform you about our Services and about events and promotions (including by sending you e-newsletters, marketing communications, and announcements from us). By calling or submitting a web form to us, you consent to receive communications from us at the telephone number or email address you provide. 

  • To tailor the content and information we may send or display to you using location customization and personalization across our Websites. 

  •  To better understand how users access and use our Websites and Services, both on an aggregated and individualized basis, in order to modify or improve our Websites and Services and respond to user desires and preferences, and for other research and analytical purposes.


How We Share Your Information

We may share your information, including your Personal Information, as follows:

  • SERVICE PROVIDERS. We may disclose the information we collect from you to third party vendors, service providers, contractors or agents who perform functions on our behalf, including Teachworks.com, Sawyer.com and Tads.com, each data management systems that allow us to streamline admissions, tuition and other administrative requirements; 

  • OUR PARTNERS. We may share your information with certain business partners or third-party organizations for the purpose of offering you additional goods, services and/or programs that may be of interest to you and your child.  

  • BUSINESS TRANSFERS. If we are acquired by or merged with, another company, if substantially all of our assets are transferred to another company, or as part of a bankruptcy proceeding, we may transfer the information we collected from you to another company or individual.

  • IN RESPONSE TO LEGAL PROCESS. We may disclose the information we collect from you to comply with the law, judicial proceedings, court orders, or other legal processes, such as in response to court orders or subpoenas.

  • TO PROTECT US AND OTHERS. We may disclose the information we collect from you when we believe it is necessary to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding possible illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the safety of any person, violations of our Terms of Use or this Policy, or as evidence in litigation in which we are involved. 

  • AGGREGATE AND DE-IDENTIFIED INFORMATION. We may share aggregate or de-identified information about users with third parties for marketing, advertising, research, or similar purposes.


We are committed to protecting the privacy of our users and customers. Therefore, we do not sell or rent our user’s Personal Information to any third party. Further, we do not share your Personal Information with any third parties for their direct marketing purposes.


Third-Party Analytics

In some cases, we utilize google drive and google docs to collect family contact information. We use automated devices and applications, such as Google Analytics, to evaluate usage of our Websites. We also may use other analytics and tools to evaluate our Websites and Services. We use these tools to help us improve our Website and Services and performance and user experiences. These entities may use cookies and other tracking technologies to perform their services. We do not share your Personal Information with these third parties.


Third-Party Links

Our Webites may contain links to third-party websites. Any access to, and use of, such linked websites is not governed by this Policy but instead is governed by the privacy and other policies of those third-party websites. We are not responsible for the information practices of such third-party websites. For example, interactions with our Websites may result in you providing information to third-party cloud-based data management systems, such as Teachworks.com, Sawyer.com and Tads.com. In each case, your privacy rights are governed by the privacy policies found on those third-party websites and your use and disclosure of personal information is governed by those policies. In cases where you are asked to share payment information by one of the above-mentioned third-party entities, those payments may be facilitated by Stripe.com. We do not obtain or store any credit card numbers or other personal information on our Sites. You should consult Stripe’s privacy policy if you have questions about its use of your personal information. 


Our Use of Cookies and Other Tracking Mechanisms

We and our third-party service providers use cookies and other tracking mechanisms to track information about your use of our Websites. We may combine this information with other Personal Information we collect from you (and our third-party service providers may do so on our behalf).

What Choices Do I Have Regarding Use of My Personal Information?

Children Under 13

Children can access many parts of our website and use many of its features without providing us with personal information. 

We only collect as much information about a child as is reasonably necessary for the child to participate in tutoring or other activities provided on our Site, and we do not condition his or her participation on the disclosure of more personal information than is reasonably necessary. As parent or legal guardian of a child, you may provide us with the following information in order to schedule a tutoring session or otherwise facilitate our Services:  

  • Full name 

  • Birthday 

  • Address 

  • Email address 

  • Telephone number 


Where content or features of our Websites require personal information about children under the age of 13, this content is only collected from a parent, legal guardian or authorized caregiver and never from the child directly.

It is NEVER a mandatory condition of our Services to provide a student’s personal contact information to us. If preferable to you as parent, guardian or caretaker of a child, you may provide us with your child’s personal information which we will use only to register him or her with our website in order to communicate directly about activities on the website, track performance and to enable direct communication with Smith Street teachers or tutors. For example, teachers may email students homework, remind them of a lesson or will call or text to remind them of a lesson. We will never contact your child directly without authorization from a parent or legal guardian. 

We do not share, sell, rent or transfer children’s personal information other than to disclose information to teachers to facilitate lessons and other services that are integral to the functioning of our website.

We may disclose children’s personal information:  

  • To third parties we use to support the internal operations of our website and who are bound by contractual or other obligations to use the information only for such purpose and to keep the information confidential, such as teachers or tutors; 

  • If we are required to do so by law or legal process, such as to comply with any court order or subpoena or to respond to any government or regulatory request; 

  • If we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to protect the rights, property or safety of SmithStreet, our customer or others, including to: 

    • Protect the safety of a child; 

    • Protect the safety and security of the website; or
